It always starts out like a normal day until… it’s not.
There is always something more important that focusing on yourself…until you’re faced with no other option.
While I laughed at the above video, I also felt embarrassed, guilty. Not that I have close to the chaotic life featured on film, but I know what it’s like to ignore your own health, to push it aside for every other deadline and task at hand.
Ignoring your heart health and wellness doesn’t always result in situations as dire as this. But every day that we put another deadline in front of our health, we lose focus on what really matters.
That’s one key reason why Red Sky is proud to be a partner in this year’s Go Red For Women initiative – focused on dispelling the myths and raising awareness of heart disease as the number one killer of women. This passionate, emotional, social initiative is designed to empower women to take charge of their heart health.
We embrace community involvement at our agency – involvement that goes beyond signing a sponsorship check. When we were approached by the American Heart Association to help share the message of Go Red we looked at ways to get our team involved. We work with many clients focused on wellness and we have an active office, but there’s always room to step it up even more. So that’s why Red Sky team members are embarking on BetterU – a free 12-week online nutrition and fitness program that can makeover your heart – and helping to sign Idahoans up for BetterU at the Go Red for Women event in Boise on November 3, 2011 from 11:30am – 2pm.
We’ll be chronicling our journey on this blog, and sharing tips and insights on heart health on our Twitter feed and Facebook page. We invite you to join us on the journey towards heart health.
